Nick J. Apostolopoulos

HECA President Emeritus (2023 - present)

 

Nick was born in Agios Andreas in the prefecture of Evrytania, Greece. Upon completion of his education, he fulfilled his military duties by serving for 28 months in the Hellenic Air Force. He immigrated to the United States in 1969 and settled in Charlotte, NC, where he was greeted by members of his family. Initially he was involved with various types of endeavors, however he quickly realized the potential in the Real Estate industry and as such, became a licensed broker in North and South Carolina, as well as a successful developer. Nick excels in communication, public relations, business consulting and expert in negotiations, where he has advised many individuals, helping them turn their dreams into reality.

Nick was always a firm believer in the timeless values of Hellenism and Greek Orthodox traditions. For many years, he was a member and an officer of the Evrytanian Association of America "Velouchi”. He served as President for two terms, between 1995 and 1997. During his tenure as President of the “Velouchi”, Nick made several significant changes and contributions that continue to benefit the Velouchi to this day. He was also active at the Council of Hellenes Abroad (SAE), as well as in the Federation of Sterea Hellas of the USA and Canada, where he was elected 1st Vice President and served in this position between 2017 and 2019. Nick was instrumental in creating the Hellenic Congress of America in 2016 in New York with like minded individuals who saw the need for a new grass roots organization.

He is currently serving as President of the organization and in this position, he has passionately been devoting his talents, experiences and his energy with other dedicated board members to fulfill the goals of the Hellenic Congress. Nick Apostolopoulos has always been a strong supporter of our Greek community, who has always aspired and worked tirelessly for Hellenism in America, and to achieve progress and unity for Hellenes throughout the world.
